Surrealism Art Prints
The Surrealism Art Movement is believed to have been born from the Surrealist Movement in poetry and literature first coined in 1924 Paris by André Breton in his "Manifesto of Surrealism." Influenced by theories and studies of Sigmund Freud, the movement focused on free association of thoughts that had previously been restricted by reason and by the limitations of social correctness. Initially centered in Paris, the movement eventually spread throughout the world.
Early Surrealism artists included German Max Ernst (1891-1976), French-born Andre Masson, and Spanish-Catalan Joan Miro (1893-1983). Other well-known 20th century producers of surreal art include world-famous Salvador Dali, Yves Tanguy, American-born Man Ray and Rene Magritte. These groundbreaking artists, and many more, are represented in our fantastic collection of surreal lithographs and surrealism prints for sale. Their works are unique and revolutionary creations that often defy logic or clear comprehension.
