Felix Buhot Etchings

Felix Hilaire Buhot (1847 - 1898) was a French painter, but is most famous as an etcher. Buhot etchings often depict street scenes, especially of his beloved Paris. Buhot was a master of creating mood and perhaps his most original prints are those which evoke weather and the elements: rain, snow, sun and clouds. One of Buhot's signature techniques was the use of symphonic margins, which were small vignettes -- decorative sketches around the borders of his central composition. We are pleased to offer several fine impressions of rare Felix Buhot etchings.
