Chagall Lithographs for the Bible

Marc Chagall was commissioned by Paris publisher Teriade to create lithographs of biblical scenes for publication in the deluxe art revue Verve. A series of Bible lithographs of Old Testament subjects was published in 1956 for Verve 33-34. With their strong, bold colors and whimsical but poignant style, these proved to be some of the most popular Chagall lithographs, so a second series of completely different compositions was published in 1960 for Verve 37-38. We're pleased to offer a fine selection of these magnificent original Chagall Bible lithographs, printed at the Mourlot studio in Paris.
